Student-Run Credit Unions
Did you know FirstDay operates two student run and operated credit unions? They are at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center and Fairmont High School.
MVCTC is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 am- 3pm and Fairmont is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 12pm – 3:20pm. The branches provide students with real life, hands-on training as they serve fellow classmates as well as serving the staff.
FirstDay’s staff works closely with students to give them hands-on banking experience. Our goal is that the knowledge and experience these students gain from this will promote strong financial foundations for their future. FirstDay also focuses on assisting the students with financial training geared towards every day life events, such as saving money for college, the value of a good credit score and how to open and maintain a checking account.
